GCCA/WFLO Concludes 8-Week Cold Chain Training in Dominican Republic

On June 28, 2022, GCCA/WFLO concluded an 8-week cold chain training for cold chain actors in the Dominican Republic. The courses covered Cold Chain Basics, Fundamentals of Refrigeration, Food Preservation, HACCP and Food Safety, Refrigerated Transportation, GFSI and Certifications, Energy Management, and Emergency Preparedness. The sessions were taught entirely from GCCA members based in Latin America. More than 200 participants registered for the courses, and 113 completed the courses, receiving a WFLO Short Course Certificate of Completion, making it the most well-attended Short Course in WFLO’s history.

This training was supported by the USDA-funded Food for Progress Trade Safe (TraSa) Project in the Dominican Republic and prime implementor IESC. If you have any questions this or other projects, please reach out to Vice President of International Projects Amanda Brondy at abrondy@gcca.org.
