Virtual Innovation Program, Week One Recap

Global Cold Chain Alliance's Virtual Innovation Program started last week, October 14th , providing best-in-class learning and business-to-business collaboration for industry professionals throughout the cold chain. The program started with an Opening General Session where GCCA President & CEO, Matt Ott along with IARW Chairman, Ron Buford, and WFLO Chairman, Brian Beazer provided attendees with a state of the association and a glimpse at things to come. This session was followed by a keynote presentation by Andy Busch, Former U.S. Chief Market Intelligence Officer. He provided guidance to help us forecast the economic rebound from COVID-19.

Day two and three featured sessions covering the following topics:

  • Increasing Productivity with Semi-Automated Forklift Technology, led by speakers Chris Thompson - Vice President of Business Development at Interchange Group, Inc. and Keith VanBenschoten – Chief Operating Officer and Interchange Group, Inc.
  • Panel de Discusión: Afrontando retos en la industria de cadena de frío, led by speakers Jose Carranza - Agroempaques, S.A., CEO, Dionisio Cos Malpica - Logistica Fria Griver, SAPI de CV (Friopuerto Veracruz), Logistic Director, Salvador Figueroa Sánchez - Mardom Group, Institutional Relationship Vice President, and Raul Hernandez Butron - Precisa Frozen Ltda., Executive President.
  • Human Resources in the Time of COVID-19: Recruitment, Retention and Workforce Changes, led by Ashley Albers – Human Resources Manager at nor-Am Cold Storage, Lori Cogit - VP, Human Resources at RLS Logistics, and Christine Rees-Zecha - Regional Human Resources Director for Lineage Logistics.
