Pioneer Cold Logistic Services Names Joseph McMahon as Executive Vice President

Pioneer Cold Logistic Services provides comprehensive, temperature-controlled supply chain solutions for frozen and cold food producers distributing throughout New England.

Chicopee, Mass. (January 21 st, 2021) - Pioneer Cold Logistics Services has named Joseph McMahon as Executive Vice President. He will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's operations as they continue to build upon Pioneer's 70-year history of providing cold chain warehouse and logistic service to food producers marketing in the Northeast.

"As a veteran in strong asset management and a native of Holyoke we're delighted to promote Joe to this leadership position" said Joe Deliso, Chairman and Managing Director of Pioneer. "We're confident that Joe's passion for the business and dedication to growth and exceptional performance will bring him success in this important role."

A seasoned executive, McMahon has 20 years of corporate experience in increasingly impactful roles. Joe began his career as an auditor at State Street Bank and furthered his accounting skills with Pricewaterhouse Coopers. He expanded his executive skillset at Bain & Company until accepting management positions at CFGI, the nation's largest non-audit business advisory firm and later Cloudant, an IBM company. Joe joined Pioneer in 2017 serving on the executive team in his most recent position as CFO/Controller.

McMahon lives in Holyoke, Mass., with his wife and two children. He is an active member of his community, serving as a mentor for EforAll, a nonprofit that partners with communities nationwide to help underrepresented individuals successfully start a business. He is a CPA and graduate of Bentley University in Waltham Mass.

About Pioneer Cold Logistics

In 1929, Clarence Birdseye sold his company and patents to the Postum Company, which eventually became General Foods Corporation. In 1930 GFC founded the Birds Eye Frozen Food Company and began sales experiments in 18 retail stores around Springfield, Massachusetts to test consumer acceptance of quick-frozen foods. Joseph Deliso, of Springfield, founded Pioneer in 1946 initially to store frozen food for Birds Eye. Today, Pioneer Cold operates the largest independently owned frozen food warehousing and logistics facility in the Northeast. The company operates over 15 million cubic feet of warehousing storage for frozen, cooler and dry products, with 50,000 pallet positions of controlled temperature storage from -20 to 36 degrees. Logistics services provide solutions for both in and outbound distribution throughout New England. The facilities are USDA and Silliker approved.
