Over 30 senior level cold chain professionals gathered at the first Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) Executive Connection, held on March 19, 2014 at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Center. The Cold Chain Executive Connection is an invitation-only education and networking luncheon that brings together industry leaders to facilitate learning and business opportunities.

“Events like the Executive Connection are invaluable for developing a strong cold chain industry here in China. GCCA was excited to host this full day of focused and high-quality discussions,” commented Li Hai Dong, Director, GCCA China Division.

Presidents, CEOs, Vice Presidents of Supply Chain, and other senior personnel responsible for logistics were invited to attend and learn about trends related to automation, efficiency, and third party logistics. Following the presentation led by Richard Tracy, Vice President of International Programs, GCCA, attendees continued to discuss the topics at an informal networking luncheon.

“Not only was this event informative, but I was able to make some great contacts,” shared Terri Lee Tyminski, Commercial Officer, US Consulate General Shanghai.

This event, funded by the US Department of Agriculture, is part of GCCA’s larger efforts to build and strengthen the temperature-controlled supply chain around the world. Future global events include the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing International Cold Chain Logistics Summit (May 2014), launch of the WFLO Institute Latin America in Panama (2014), and Postharvest Handling Technologies Short Course in Indonesia (August 2014).
