Trump Administration Names IRTA Member J.B. Hunt to the Transportation Great American Economic Revival Industry Group

Washington, D.C. - President Donald J. Trump announced many of the esteemed executives, economists, scholars, and industry leaders who together will form various Great American Economic Revival Industry Groups.  J.B. Hunt, a member of the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA), a core partner of the Global Cold Chain Alliance, is one of the companies serving on the Transportation Group.

These bipartisan groups of American leaders will work together with the White House to chart the path forward toward during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Refrigerated trucking is an essential component for moving the nation’s food from producer to the consumer. Throughout the pandemic, IRTA members continue to serve not only the U.S., but in countries around the world, by unfailingly delivering temperature controlled perishables such as food.

Director of Transportation for Henningsen Cold Storage and IRTA Board Chairman, Todd Lanter said, “On average, IRTA members help transport more than 290 billion pounds of perishable foods each year. They take the responsibility to deliver safe, high-quality food to the consumer seriously, protecting and delivering the food that families love. We are pleased that the Trump Administration has selected IRTA member J.B. Hunt to serve on the Transportation-focused Great American Economic Revival Industry Group.”

Brian Webb, Senior Vice President at JB Hunt Transport Services, Inc., adds "We are honored to be included in such a prestigious group of companies called on to assist the federal government in planning and executing the country’s economic recovery.  It is a testament to the hard work of the people at J.B. Hunt that we were picked in this endeavor.”

GCCA applauds the formation of the Great American Economic Revival Industry Groups and the selection of J.B. Hunt as one of the companies that will represent the transportation industry. GCCA and IRTA will continue to help the companies of the cold chain thrive and grow to keep the world’s food and pharmaceuticals supply chain strong.
