2nd Annual WFLO Institute Latin America Continues to Train Cold Chain Professionals

June 10, 2015

For the second year in a row, the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO), a Core Partner of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), comes to Latin America with the WFLO Institute, to offer one of the most complete educational programs in the cold chain industry. The Institute will be held June 22-24, 2015 at the Hilton Panama Hotel, Panama City, Panama. This educational program is a three day training event where last year’s participants return for a Year 2 curriculum and a new group of Year 1 ‘students’ will begin what is a three year program to complete.

“We had a strong level of support last year during our initial launch of this program,” stated Debbie Corado, Regional Director, Latin America for GCCA. “We are introducing our year two curriculum this year and we roll out year 3 next year”.

The WFLO Institute Latin America features more than 40 classes taught by leading experts in a range of competencies including cold chain management, customer service, food safety, labor issues, warehouse and transportation operations, and career and personal development. In addition, the year 1 students will tour one of the largest warehouse complexes in Panama, Galores Group and the students from the second year program will visit the facilities from Balboa Port. Both groups will obtain practical insight into modern temperature-controlled facilities daily operations.

The program will allow the students to carry out activities with the experts, daily feedback from the courses explained everyday, stories and experiences of each participant and the possibility to make future connections between industry professionals. The program is divided into six modules, Cold Chain Management, Customer Service, Employment Safety, Food Safety, Warehouse Operations, Personal and Professional Development.
