August 19, 2010

WASHINGTON, DC, August 19, 2010 – Cost-cutting, cold storage construction trends and technologies are a major focus of the 30th Annual International Association for Cold Storage and Construction (IACSC) Conference and Expo, to be held 4-7 November 2010 at the Westin La Cantera Resort in San Antonio, Texas, USA.

Opening the event, Ted Speas, Senior Vice President of Facilities and Automation for C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc., will deliver a keynote speech about trends in the construction of cold storage facilities.

C&S Wholesale Grocers of Keene, New Hampshire is the largest food wholesaler and according to Forbes magazine, the twelfth largest privately held company in the United States. The company distributes food to supermarkets, retail stores, and military bases across the country.

His speech will kick off a program that will explore many aspects of cold storage construction trends and technologies. The program offers sessions on door design, LEED criteria, and expansion joints in freezers.

Another session will focus on a new Alliance with OSHA and how to foster safer and more healthful American workplaces, by working cooperatively with OSHA to prevent fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in your workplace.

Finally, the program will close with a session on improving your likability to increase your sales. The session will be led by Bill Graham, who has spent his career helping people find powerful ways to tell their stories: in theaters, on television, in the classroom, and in the boardroom. Graham will give you simple tools you can implement immediately to increase your sales.

The two-and-one-half-day conference includes more than seven hours of programming, an expo dedicated solely to cold storage construction needs, and many networking opportunities.

IACSC Members can attend the IACSC Conference & Expo for $765. Non-IACSC contractors and suppliers may attend for $1,175. Refrigerated warehouse operators, food processors, and food manufacturers can attend the event for $315. For more information and to register, visit www.iacsc.org/conference.
