Jack Ampuja to Deliver Keynote Speech

Washington, DC, March 18, 2010 – In supply chain logistics, waste can cripple operations and decrease profit.

The American Frozen Food Institute and the Global Cold Chain Alliance announced today that President and CEO of Supply Chain Optimizers Jack Ampuja, an expert in supply chain efficiencies, will keynote the Food Logistics Forum, to be held June 6-8, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Supply Chain Optimizers is a management advisory firm founded upon the principle of taking waste out of the supply chain. Ampuja has 30 years of supply chain experience with five Fortune 500 firms. In his last corporate position, he headed a $200 million logistics division. Ampuja also serves as executive director of the Center for Supply Chain Excellence at Niagara University.

Co-hosted by the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) and the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), the Food Logistics Forum will provide participants the information and networking resources they need to navigate the ever-changing logistics landscape.

Logistics professionals serving every link in the food chain – from transportation managers at frozen food manufacturing facilities to public refrigerated warehouse operators – will benefit from the educational resources, regulatory information, and business development opportunities offered by this joint venture.

The Food Logistics Forum will also serve as the annual meeting of the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA), a GCCA Core Partner. IRTA members, which include refrigerated transportation companies and shipping brokers, have close ties to all sectors of the food industry and will greatly benefit from the networking and education programs at the event.

In addition, the IRTA Executive of the Year will be announced at the Food Logistics Forum. The award recognizes an individual in the refrigerated transportation industry who has made a significant contribution to the industry by fostering innovation, looking beyond the boundaries of his/her company, resolving industry issues, or improving the industry's image and efficiency.

Online registration is now open for the Food Logistics Forum. For more information or to register, visit www.gcca.org/flf or www.affi.com/flf.
